MxPx started as three 15-year-old kids calling themselves Magnified Plaid pounding out music inspired by and similar to The Descendents and other Southern California punk rock bands. They didn’t really love their band name, however, which was a tribute to the original guitarist’s penchant for wearing one particularly loud plaid shirt.
With every album mxpx just continues to get better. I'll have to be honest. When I popped this into my CD player it just blew my mind at how awesome but at the same time how different this album actually is. The big difference in this CD from the rest is the backing vocals and the melodies which gives it a little bit of a more melodic feel but not too pop sounding. You can hear the punk edge in just about every song. I own 3 MXPX cd's and this is my 4th to my collection. The two bands even used to tour together all the time.
