Josh White - Live vinyl LP album. Paramount Mono ABC-407. Record and sleeve both in G condition. Some small surface marks and scratches but doesn't skip. Record cleaned prior to shipping. 78 RPM Josh White 1st Album 1945 3 Records Langston Hughes David Stone Martin. This is an opportunity to own the first album by legendary blues folk singer, Josh White. Introduction by Langston Hughes and cover art by David Stone Martin. Records still have sheen and very little.

The album opens arrestingly with White’s get-under-the-skin, soulful and subtle delivery of the old traditional standard Saint James Infirmary before cruising through a range of public domain titles including Raise A Ruckus, Joshua Fit The Battle Of Jericho, and Jesus Gonna Make Up My Dyin’ Bed. There’s also a dutifully evocative take on the old US Depression number, One Meat Ball
